I took the picture found there: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap041207.html. inverted the folowing picture put them together increase the contrast. And it's actually very clear that we got ourselves a fly. This kind of artifact is actually common. The "explosion" must be the shiny body of the insect. The wings and the head are visible in this enhanced picture.
